Italian dancers: the talents of the future in the footsteps of Roberto Bolle

Let’s go back to the theme of dance, this time featuring the Italian young dancers, who, together with their women colleagues, whom we have already talked about, work hard to get to the top. In the wake of Roberto Bolle, a reference point for many of them, there are many Italian Dancers who after years of sacrifice and study, expect nothing but a bit of curiosity from the public to be appreciated even outside our country. Today we will present you some of them, hoping to arouse the desire in you to buy a ticket for their shows.

Alessio Rezza

Our first Italian dancer on the list was born in Modugno, in the province of Bari, began to study classical dance from an early age and in 2008 he obtained a Diploma at the prestigious dance school of the  Teatro alla Scala; after various work experiences, in 2009 he joined the ballet of the Opera of Paris, and the following year he settled at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. Among the Italian dancers, he one of the few that in 2015 was promoted to Soloist under the direction of Eleonora Abbagnato. Guest of many international awards, among the many awards received we remember the Positano Prize 2012 as Best Emerging Dancer and Europe in Dance 2016.

Claudio Coviello

Let’s move on to the second by order but not by talent, between more talented italian dancers; born in Potenza, in 2010, still very young, he became the Primo Ballerino (lead dancer) at the Teatro La Scala in Milan; graduated in 2009 at the dance school of the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, he delineated his artistic path with many collaborations and awards of the highest level, including the Danza & Danza Award as an emerging artist. In 2017 he returned to his hometown to perform for an evening organized by Centro Studi Danza Loncar, a school where he began to take his first lessons. Little curiosity: in 2010 he competed in the classic and contemporary sections of the Spoleto International Dance Competition, winning first place in both categories.

Vito Mazzeo

Third on our list of Italian dancers is Vito Mazzeo. Born in Vibo Valentia, he starts studying at the Teatro alla Scala dance school, where he graduates in classical and contemporary dance and later he joined the Royal Ballet in London in 2005. Chased under the guidance of Carla Fracci, for many years he will work at the Taetro dell’Opera in Rome, obtaining important roles such as, among man, Swan Lake, Gisele, The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty in the woods. In 2010 he became a soloist in the company of the San Francisco Ballet, where he received a prestigious award, the Principal Dancer nomination. But that’s not all: what you surely do not know is that he represented Italy at the Miami International Ballet Festival. Among the many awards received, we remember the Danza & Danza 2010 Award as Best Interpreter of the season.

Giuseppe Giofrè

We remain in Calabria, precisely at Gioia Tauro, where Giuseppe was born, Among the Italian dancers he is perhaps the most famous, thanks to his participation in the Amici di Maria De Filippi program in 2011, during which he won the competition. His career began early, at seventeen, when he began studying Hip-Hop and Jazz Funk; after his victory in the television program he obtained a scholarship for the Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles and in 2012 he joined the dance corps of X-Factor UK. But that’s not all: he works with many international artists, such as Taylor Swift, who he accompanied in her best-selling world tour.

Jacopo Tissi

We conclude with a unique and wonderful young Italian dancer. Born in Landriano in the province of Pavia in 1995, he graduated in 2004 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and, after a few years of apprenticeship at the Vienna Opera House, he returns to Italy. Among his most important roles is the prince in Sleeping Beauty in the Woods in tandem with the etoile Svetlana Zakharova at the Teatro alla Scala; Tissi is still very young and his career is all to build.
